g is for...
geo-caching.
Do you know what that is?
I did not... until the weeks before Christmas.
Since then, we have been having a bit of fun treasure hunting with a GPS...
filling out tiny log books inside peanut butter jars and duct tape covered water bottles... trading bits of junk for other bits.
To tell you the truth... I think it is a bit unnerving to know that there are people hiding "treasure" all around us... but the light I see dancing in the eyes of my children (& husband!) outweighs that funny feeling. Especially since I found the last one when no one else could!
A silly little hobby... but it is my "g"...
Happy A to Z Monday!

"unnerving"? You are silly. Love the pictures.
Never hear of it..had to go look it up. Would be great if some Gold were there to find. ha! good luck.
I have heard of this. It looks fun. I have also heard of letterboxing, which is alot like this, but you leave your personal stamp in the container. All of it sounds like something a kid (or a grown-up one) would love.
Seems fun - sort of a high tech treasure hunt (without a huge treasure, but still pretty cool).
I don't know what it is, but this is the second time this week I have heard about it, so I need to google it, right? GREAT pictures. So fun!
Gee, I never heard of geo-what?? I guess I better join the others & google that rascal too! I bet my Godson has heard of it.
Sounds like a fun way to spend a day. What is the coolest "trinket" you have found?
it is a fun way to spend the day!! as for trinkets... sometimes you can find a tracking coin and once you find it, you record it on the geo-cache site (yes, this just gets more geek-y by the minute!) to find out where it has been... and then you put in in the next cache you find... and on it goes. but really... my favorite part is the excitement when we actually find one!
Popped in from SITS to say hi!
Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I'm more than a little envious of you living near the water. I can't wait for summer to arrive here in Arkansas!
