On the first day of 2012, he offered the sunset... and I declared it a tradition. So, on the first day of 2013, when the sun was beginning to slide past afternoon, we headed to the beach...
This second day of the new year finds me only freshly showered long after noon... I am cherishing these days of vacation! This week will be full of rest and readying for next week, when school resumes and I head back to work. December is so filled with celebration that these days with no agenda are necessary. As necessary as the ocean waves and the salty air.
We rang in the new year with friends... fire blazing, comfy and cozy, with the sounds of other's celebrations booming in the dark sky around us. Good food and company, laughter and friendship... it seems the very best way to wind down one year before we are off to a fresh start.
With celebrations wound down, I begin to tackle this new year... and open my heart to the grace and love that He promises...

Your week and NYE sound perfect to me. I'm so glad you are able to take this time and 'breathe' and relax.
Happy 2013...may it be filled with joy and laughter.
XOXO
The salt air and the ocean. As much as we love the beach, I've never spent New Year's there. Sounds heavenly. Joy to you in 2013.
Ah...sunshine!
